This recipe contains raw eggs, something that many people will feel an aversion to. Others will be interested in this recipe because reduced glutathione as a supplement is very expensive, and as it turns out, Mother Nature provides the prime foods in raw form (eggs and milk) that already contain glutamyl-cysteine, which represents 2/3 of the glutathione molecule. Glutathione is the master antioxidant in the body and usually very depleted in those with migraine.
Eggs are also a complete food containing many essential B vitamins including choline, along with many minerals, in good balance and in bioavailable form.
While some people have stated that raw egg white can deplete the body of biotin, the high concentrations of biotin in the yolk should prevent any deficiency. Here’s an article on how to consume raw egg whites safely.
I decided it would be fun to mix together raw eggs and/or milk with other things that increase glutathione, like glycine and brazil nuts. You can also add your prebiotic fibers to this shake and take your supplements with it. It is a filling and nutritious shake, and raw eggs can also be beneficial in combating mycobacterial and fungal infections in the nasal sinus.
This shake is incredibly delicious, and tastes similar to eggnog.
Recipe
Combine the following ingredients together in a blender:
2.5 cups of raw organic or grassfed milk or a healthy nutmilk alternative
1-2 raw organic eggs from healthy chickens
3 brazil nuts for selenium (improves glutathione levels); alternately, use almonds or walnuts
1 under-ripe bannana (optional – must not be overly ripe as ripe bannanas contain tyriamines)
1 dash of sea salt
1 pinch vanilla bean paste or powder
Maple syrup or honey to taste (optional, as bannana provides sweetness)
1-2 T of your favorite prebiotic fiber blend (optional)
1/2 teaspoon glycine powder (optional, I use NOW brand)
Dash of nutmeg on top!
Adjust ratios to meet your preferences. Enjoy!
